Project overview
As part of the state's fish recovery efforts, WSDOT has made it a priority to reconnect waterways where our roads act as barriers. In western Washington, that means building hundreds of fish passable structures under state highways in the next decade to create habitat gain essential for meeting our fish recovery goals. Beginning in Fall 2024, WSDOT will build a new fish passage structure where Lundeen Creek crosses SR 92 (MP 0.78) to restore fish access to previously inaccessible stream habitat.
What to expect
SR 92 travelers and users of local roads can expect:
- Periodic traffic restrictions to single lane along SR 92 between SR 9 and Callow Road
- Short-term weekend closures of SR 92 to install the new fish passage structure
This project is combined into a single contract with two other fish passage projects on SR 204 and SR 528. Construction is scheduled to occur from late 2024 – late 2026. We will post important project updates as work progresses to our social media channels and weekly traffic news email.
