Axle spacing report

If your vehicle is overweight, you will need an axle spacing report number. Get your axle spacing report number using the calculator on this page.

The axle spacing report number is required for each overweight permit. The report number will be assigned to the configuration.

To create your axle spacing report number, you will need the tire size of all two-tire axles and the distance between each axle (feet and inches). This is a helpful tool for knowing the weight limitations of a vehicle combination or single unit:

After calculating and saving the axle spacing report, an axle spacing report number will be provided. This report number will always be assigned to the combination. If you have any trouble, there is a step-by-step tutorial for help with the axle spacing report (PDF 112KB).

Slow down on ice and snow.

It's easier to skid or lose control traveling at higher speeds. Give yourself more time to stop.

Winter conditions could mean chains are required on your route. Practice putting them on your vehicle ahead of time.

Pack your winter car kit.

Carry extra supplies like warm clothing, ice scraper and brush, jumper cables and other emergency items.
