Holiday weekend travel

View holiday travel charts for the four routes that historically see the most holiday traffic congestion and do not have other alternative route options.

Holiday travel charts are provided for the four routes that historically see the most holiday traffic congestion and do not have other alternative route options:

  • I-5 Lacey to Tacoma
  • I-90 North Bend to Cle Elum
  • US 2 between Skykomish and Stevens Pass
  • I-5 at the U.S.-Canada border

Christmas and Fourth of July travel charts are provided only on years that the holiday creates a three-day weekend (when the holiday falls on a Monday, Saturday, Sunday or Friday). If the holiday falls on other days of the week there is not enough consistent travel on any given day to generate accurate charts.

Thanksgiving weekend travel times vary by year. See how holiday traffic may affect your travel plans.
