The Washington Transportation Plan (WTP) is the state's long-range transportation plan, based on the Legislature's six policy goals. This 20-year vision for improving the state's transportation network is completed in two parts: policy and implementation.
Washington Transportation Plan 2040 & Beyond, Your Washington State Policy Plan (PDF) provides statewide policy recommendations to the Legislature. It was completed by the Washington State Transportation Commission (WSTC) in 2018.
Washington Transportation Plan Phase 2 – Implementation 2017-2040 (PDF) applies key policy recommendations from the 2035 Washington Transportation Plan (PDF) to further develop the state’s complex transportation system through four focus areas and eleven action items.
