Project overview
This project makes repairs to State Route 165 south of Carbonado in Pierce County. The highway experienced settlement, dips and shoulder-drop-offs and washouts as a result of winter storm system that brought heavy rains on January 7, 2022. An emergency contract was issued for this repair work. Work started in October 2022. The contractor finished the repairs and removed the temporary signals on Dec. 7, 2022. The gravel roadway surface will remain in place until crews install final paving in late winter or early spring 2023.
