Left turns are temporarily restricted from Paradise Bay Road and Shine Road. Right turns are still allowed and all turns from State Route 104 are still allowed. The restrictions are in place to improve safety at the intersection during construction.
Project overview
This project improves safety along State Route 104 in Jefferson County at Shine Road/Paradise Bay Road and at State Route 19. At Shine Road/Paradise Bay Road, a single-lane metered roundabout will be built. The meter will be active only after a closure at the nearby Hood Canal Bridge. At SR 19, a single-lane roundabout will be built.
What to expect
All roadway work at the State Route 104/SR 19 intersection is complete. Crews will plant and seed this fall.
Work to build a roundabout has begun at Shine Road/Paradise Bay Road. Traffic at the intersection has shifted towards Paradise Bay Road as crews begin clearing work near Shine Road. Travelers may see one-way alternating traffic between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the project as well as intermittent traffic holds of up to five minutes.
Beginning in May 2024, contractor crews will start construction of two roundabouts on State Route 104.
