Project overview
This project preserved multiple state routes across Pend Oreille, Stevens, Lincoln and Adams counties in Eastern Washington.
Chip sealing is the application of a special protective wearing surface to an existing pavement. Included in the chip seal project will be constructing bituminous surface treatment (BST), planning bituminous pavement, crack sealing, hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving, pavement repair, and prelevel, removing existing overlay from bridge decks, bridge deck repair, placing waterproof membrane, crushed surfacing top course, centerline rumble strips, fog seal, pavement markings, guideposts, traffic control and other work.
What to expect
This project included chip sealing on the following routes:
SR 20 – Spruce Canyon Road to S. Fork Mille Creek Road (6.17 miles)
SR 21 – I-90 to Cannawai Creek (36.1 miles)
SR 25 – Fruitland to US 395 (42.97 miles)
SR 28 – Grant County Line to Lamona (24.13 miles)
SR 31 – Metaline Falls to Canada (12.72 miles)
SR 231 – Reardan to Fisher Road (8.92 miles)
SR 292 – Springdale to Loon Lake (5.91 miles)
US 395 – Columbia River to Boyds (6.81 miles)
Work was completed in October 2023.
