COLFAX – The public is invited to an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 31, to hear how community feedback helped shape the bridge replacement and roundabout design for the State Route 26 and US 195 intersection in Colfax.
The Washington State Department of Transportation project team will present the current designs and discuss what to expect through the construction phase.
The twin bridges of US 195 and SR 26 in Colfax have come to the end of their service life and need to be replaced. In addition to replacing the bridges, a new US 195 and SR 26 intersection roundabout capable of accommodating wide loads, heavy truck traffic, and passenger vehicle volumes will help all traffic flow more freely and efficiently for years to come. The project also will incorporate elements of the Complete Streets approach to improving safety and access for all users on WSDOT projects.
