UPDATE: The State Route 169 Green River Dan Evans Bridge south of Black Diamond will remain closed beyond the anticipated Monday, April 17, reopening. Crews are estimating the bridge may reopen by Friday morning, April 21. Please see the updated news release for this closure.
BLACK DIAMOND – All lanes in both directions of State Route 169 at the Green River Bridge south of Black Diamond will close for expansion joint repair starting at 9 p.m. Friday, April 14. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation are estimating the bridge may reopen by Friday morning, April 21.
During the closure, travelers can follow the signed detour routes in either direction.
Northbound SR 169 traffic detour
- Turn left onto Southeast 400th Street.
- Turn right onto 212th Avenue Southeast (which turns into 218th Avenue Southeast).
- Turn right onto Southeast Auburn Black Diamond Road (which turns into Roberts Drive).
- Turn left back onto SR 169.
Southbound SR 169 traffic detour
- Turn right onto Roberts Drive (which turns into Southeast Auburn Black Diamond Road).
- Turn left onto 218th Avenue Southeast (which turns into 212th Avenue Southeast).
- Turn left onto Southeast 400th Street.
- Turn right back onto SR 169.
WSDOT bridge crews will repair expansion joints, pour new concrete and allow time for the repairs to properly cure at the Green River Bridge.
