Project overview
This project will rehabilitate approximately 11.25 miles of SR 20 in Stevens and Pend Oreille Counties from S. Fork Mill Creek Road to Tiger by removing the surface of the existing pavement and paving with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) to create a smoother ride and preserve the roadway for years to come.
What to expect
The project includes removing the surface of the existing pavement, repairing portions of the underlying pavement, crack sealing, paving with Hot Mix Asphalt, and installing rumble strips. Once completed, the roadway surface will have a smoother ride that will be preserved for years to come.
During construction, travelers can expect a reduced speed approaching the work zone and single-lane closures. Crews will close one lane at a time to grind out old asphalt. They will later install a fresh surface. Users can expect one-way alternating traffic with flaggers at times. Please remember to slow down in work zones and watch for road crews.
